When you're really feeling down and out, what food (or foods) do you indulge in?

I personally am very interested in whatever responses I get from this question, as I find it intriguing that while people are certainly capable of producing fabulous artistic culinary creations, they usually turn to the basics when searching to satisfy their own soul.

For me, it has to be macaroni and cheese. Classic.

Though I have many comfort foods, many of which I have described on here, the one I turn to when I am really feeling down or blue is a Grilled Cheese with Chocolate Milk. It is my true pick-me-up. Though a pint of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia can work wonders for the soul!!!;)

My comfort food would have to be a Grilled cheese sandwich. Nothing makes my day better than that!:chef:

If anyone of you have been to Atlanta or live there. You may know what I am talking about, but nothing beats The Varsity. Two chili cheese slaw dogs, onion rings, frosted orange, and fried peach pie.
    MMMMMMMMM!
I go home at the end of this month. I can't wait.

I miss my all time fave. I LOVE the BBQ chicken pizza from Superossa. While they aren't the best pizza in Chicago, they aren't half bad and since I used to live down the block from the one on Central Ave... Anyway,,,Smoky BBQ sauce, romano cheese, red onions and lotsa chicken,,YUM!

Since I do not have that option, ice cream (anything from Ben & Jerry's, Cherry Garcia baby!), garlic mashed potatoes anytime, or a grilled cheese with tomato soup, mmm mmm!!!!

Something Italian. As Italian as I can get. I find this to be the most comforting. If I'm in such doldrums, I'll eat something Italian and watch Moonstruck. And when Nick Cage is trying to get Cher up in his apartment after the opera and he extends his hand out to her, I will yell "Go with him, go with him!!!" as though I've never seen the movie before.

    Then I'll feel better.

Campbell"s Tomatoe Soup, made with milk, broken Snyder Hard Pretzels for croutons, sprinkled with shredded cheese. Process American or Velveeta is best. When I am feeling Ill-ish, as with an oncomming cold, it is the best.
Otherwise...Jack Black with a beer back!

    M & M's.

They require no prep, taste better then alchol and sooth my nerves. I eat them as slowly- one at a time- as possible so I can spend hours eating 1 bag.
