This probably should go in the restaurant thread, but I'll start with it here.Friday, August 31st my lovely wife and I celebrated 25 years together. We strolled down to a little place just a few blocks from our house, Forage. It is located in a brick house, a former single family residence, small and intimate. They offer a fixed price tasting menu. Friday's menu was 12 courses. It was incredible! We were there for over 3 hours. Wow.I could ramble on about every plate, but I won't. The highlight presentaion-wise was the "oyster and pine" A bamboo platter with a handful of smoldering pine boughs topped with oysters on the half shell under a clear plastic dome. Set on the table, the chef removed the dome and wow, what an aroma as the smoke wafted about!Taste-wise, I can't pick a favorite. The smoked trout with onion and apple is one of the best, the cucumber bowl with the raw cuke shavings, the charred, grilled cukes and the cucumber gelatin sheet was nice. The zucchini and sweet pepper bites with the roast chicken vinagrette - I'll remember that for a while, as well as the soft scrambled egg with the sherry cream and maple syrup sauce served in the shell.Enough for now. It was a meal to remember.mjb.http://foragerestaurant.com/

That's odd - all my paragraph formatting was ignored.

    WOW is right!

I could have easily sat there for 3 hours,

    those plates look a-maz-ing!

Did they wine pair with each course?

DH wouldn't have lasted past the first couple of dishes.

And may I join Bazza in congratulating you and your wife on 25 years! (our anniversary is tomorrow)

I've read lots of good things about Forage.

Sometimes Huddler goes wonky and won't format. It usually self-heals, a bit later but is frustrating.

Next time I'll go for the chef's wine pairing.  I just had three glasses off the list.  My wife opted for the juice pairing, which was mostly good but there were a couple she didn't like that much.  The beet concoction served with the venison medallion was a bit odd.

I'll be on the lookout for the episode of Iron Chef America where the chefs Pham and Brown compete.
