Ok here is a brief explanation of the ChefTalk Cafe titles that everyone seems a little confused about. To give reconignition to Cafe community members each member receives the appropriate title according to the number of posts they have made. We have the ability to make the titles into anything that we want, and we(ChefTalk) just thought instead of giving out titles such as "new member" or "beginner" we would give titles that reflected our field. When you start out as a new member in the Cafe you start out as a dishwasher. After several post you are quickly advanced to the level of prep cook and so on. Here is a break down of how you advance:
  • Dishwasher - New member 0 posts
  • Prep Cook - more than 4 posts
  • Cook - more than 25 posts
  • Head Cook - more than 99 posts
  • Sous Chef - more than 150 posts
  • Chef - more than 250 posts
  • Executive Chef - more than 350 posts
This is not carved in stone, we can change it. Since the ChefTalk Cafe strives to be an open community, if we don't like something it is very easy to change. I say we get some voting going and if no one likes the titles then lets change them. Please make suggestions as to what they should be changed to.

Hey, Nicko, seeing as how shroomgirl is so close, maybe you could come up with another title for reaching 1000 posts. Master chef, maybe, or mini-Julia (or mini-Pepin, depending on the person).

Lovesherfood, to the left of the box that you type your posts in, there is a link titled "smilies legend. Click on it, it will explain how to do it.
