Everything i could! I was lucky enough to be raised on a farm and love the lifestyle. We always had a few head of cattle, one pig for slaughter and chickens when the coyotes didn't kill them. We had a greenhouse and would start planting our vegetables early January. That way come mid may we were able to plant the garden. My father dedicated and acre of land to our personal garden. We planted corn, beans, peas, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, radishes, melons, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, ect. We also had an orchard of fruit trees with apples, pears, apricots, peaches, cherries, nectarines, crab apples, plums. Not to mention two lovely walnut trees! We would eat fresh produce till we were sick of it, and spend all our spare time canning the rest of it! So needless to say i am very passionate about home grown food. Long story short, I want to run a diner that is supported by local ranchers and farmers. With a seasonal menu rotated off fresh ingredients that can be canned and used all year long!
