I was an entry level member when they first started. I am a chef.
The thing about the guild as opposed to the Somelier program is that it focusses more on the realities of food and wine. Cooking with and pairing with food are parts of this. They also have classes and cerifications for spirits and, I think, beer.
As a chef this program was great.
It still takes time, money and effort. Like most things I guess.
