Okay...definitely oreo cookies and milk, just kidding, but it is up there.  I think right now it would have to be french fries.  Only home made french fries though, it is bad but I cannot just get enough of them.

Anything from McDonalds is near the top of my LEAST favorite food list.  I'm going to die soon enough, no need to poison myself with that garbage.

Eggs?  Chile verde?  Mac and cheese?  The mushroom and leek quiche I made for the garden party earlier today?  How can one decide?

Bread, fresh from the oven hot, with butter, a sprinkle of salt and rape flower honey from a local bee keeper. Long cooked meat. A perfect tomato, picked on a warm afternoon and eaten while standing next to the plant in the garden, with a sprinkle of salt.

Moussaka - it has every ingredient I love (potatoes, zucchini, fragrant meatsauce, and bechamel).

But everyday I could eat fried eggs with fresh bread to dip and yukon fries fried in olive oil.

Crawfish in any form (bisque, etouffee, boiled, steamed, stuffing, cakes, boudin, could go on and on).

Anything charcuterie. In particular, bacon, guanciale and coppa. Thrice so since I started to make my own. The slightly funky flavour of an air dried piece of bacon combined with all the aromatics and spices you added to infuse the pork fat getting concentrated during drying and/or smoking... ahhhhhhh....

A perfectly ripe red haven peach.

If I really think about it, though, it's probably coffee. It's the only thing I consume multiple times a day, every single day and still look forward to every cup.

Wow, I have so many favorite foods, of all ranges. It's hard for me to pick just a few. No one food defines my taste.

I won't eat fast food though. Not even a fry.

Grilled chicken wings tossed in Frank's Hot Sauce with blue cheese sauce on the side, which I am cooking this Friday!  How about freshly picked sweet corn off the grill?  Greek God's Honey yogurt with fresh raspberries?  Deep fried cheese curds from the state fair?  It's hard to pick just one.

Fried gizzards, done without the boiling.

Non-fried Gizzards simmered as in stewed chicken.

    Buffalo gizzards.

Chicken hearts make a good substitute for gizzards...actually they're a little tastier.

Fried chicken wings.  Fried chicken legs.

Fried fish, especially whiting, buffalo ribs and bream.  All-time favorite fish, grilled sea bass with garlic mash and those decorative vegetables you guys do, preceded by a couple of dozen gulf oysters.

There's a couple more, but this about wraps it up.

Favorite road food to eat while driving...4 McDonald's regular-type hamburgers (not the fancy ones).  But they're best if I straighten out the insides and center the meat (that huge slab of 100% beef) and add a touch of salt and pepper...best done in the parking lot and re-wrapped before driving off.  I like the way they'll sit on my leg between bites.  Haven't cared for their fries since the early seventies.  Too politically correct.

Back when I was delivering auto parts there was this gas station that had fried gizzards.  One other driver besides me loved them.  Pretty far out of my way these days, I should find an excuse to get out there and have another batch.

There's a large gas station in Pine Bluff Arkansas that goes through a dozen 40# cases a DAY, I'm told.

Favourite food just now is baked camembert. No additions, just score the top n dive in with grissini sticks, celery and  carrot sticks. still haven't mastered the knack of browning the sides the way i had them in a cafe years ago..Any ideas?
