What is food when its no longer raw but not cooked?

    Me and my girlfriend had a discussion about eggs and if they are still raw after they have been used in Icing. No heat is being used so they are not cooked but the other ingrediants in the recipe make chemical changes to the egg white and I was arguing they are not longer raw. Is there a name for that?

    denatured for protiens like egg white. Denaturing doesn't make it food safe if it wasn't to start with. But I don't think icing causes egg white to denature.
