They asked for some Victorinox knives in a  block and some Calphalon pans, but the object was savng money.Any ideas? I am not rich but will splurge for them!

Yes, Justine, the Equipment forum and its knives sub-forum would be good places to post your questions. You might also use the search tool to see if your question has been posed before. However, take into consideration the date of the posts; outdated advice isn't much use.

Congratulations! We hope to see you participate here even after your gift has been selected.

Justine,

I'd like to help you out with your knife choices to the extent I'm able, but will wait for you to initiate a thread in the knife section.  Or, if you like, I'll do it for you.

Let me know,
BDL
