We just ignore the so-called holiday. Commercialized guilt that says love requires spending money.  I'll opt out thank you.

    My husband forgot all together!!

I gave him a handmade Valentine and we are also staying in (we’re retired, everyday is a holiday for us) .

I am making one of his favorite dishes, Cast Iron Skillet Chicken Pot Pie with a double crust, all from scratch.  Dessert is Orange Dream Sherbet, it’s Orange sherbet swirled with Vanilla Ice Cream, YUM!!

No commercial stuff here!!  All from the heart...

My wife is making a Prime Rib. This is very significant as I cook on every other day of year. I brought her a nice bouquet and card., and my cats and kittens gave her a card.

    Worked feeding the masses.

About a 100 covers, easy peasy.

Forgot to pick up the batch of cheap rings to serve with every dessert in order to make every guy uncomfortable, and every gal happy, then sad, then furious.

    Damn my poor memory.

Unfortunately, Portugal has been in the shadows of Spain for numerous years tourism wise. However, things have finally changed. Portugal has its own distinct cuisine which is veered towards the ocean ... thus, the epicurism was wonderful. The wines fabulous and the Port was superb too. The company, the Gent or the Vet is always a pleasure to be with ... thus, it was a truly enjoyable trip to Porto ... in the northwest hill country ... wine country... Had some lovely dinners and got to see Fado, a unique style of Portuguese music, sort of a blues ... very different than flamenco. We took an informative wine course too ... And I returned with a few Portuguese recipes to post too ...

    Thanks for asking.

    Kind regards,

    Margaux Cintrano
