Is it a sin to do this? For peppermint patties. I would acquire caster sugar by using a coffee grinder on granulated sugar.

Have only made them with confectioners sugar.

Is it because you don't have powdered sugar or is it because you would like to try something new ?

Out of curiosity, will you be using peppermint extract or the oil ?

    Petals.

I am from the school of following a recipe exactly as written (at least the first time, anyway) and then "make it my own" by subing one ingredient at a time.

10x has a bit of corn starch as an ingredient to prevent caking (it also works great to stiffen up some recipes, like buttercream for piping)

If you can grind it to a very fine powder, I say experiment and report back.
