I am wondering if there is anything I can do to thickly sliced tough corned beef that I bought 1lb from the deli in my store. I'm very disappointed. I love corned beef. Any thoughts or expertise would be greatly appreciated./img/vbsmilies/smilies/lookaround.gif

Best would be to chop and make hash, or a corned beef omelette. You could try steaming it until it tenderizes but that might be too much work and result in loss of flavor.

Next time get a sample and don't accept tough or too thickly sliced corned beef.

Make it into corned beef and cabbage sausages.

    This.

When the CB has not been moving my deli discounts the ends....wraps them up and sticks them in the reach in for the above uses.

Did you pick up such a piece?

Or did you ask for a lb and some dumbass whacked it off and wrapped it up?

If it was the second I would return it.
