Tortillas from scratch

Hey all,

Last night I made tortillas from start to finish. Color was great, texture was fantastic, however there was a somewhat floury taste to them. I consulted 3 different recipes and they were all pretty much identical in ingredients and cooking times. Just wondering if perhaps I need to disregard the recipes instructions, lower the heat and cook them for a little longer to cook out the flouriness (add that word to the dictionary!), or maybe even roll then out a little thinner. Or perhaps the real deal is supposed to taste a bit floury? Any insight is much appreciated.
