What app or device are you using to track employee hours/schedule, etc. We are a small bakeshop (less than 5 employees) and use a clover device on a tablet for transactions. I'm looking for recommendations for a means to track employee hours instead of a paper system. I would like them to be INSIDE the building to clock in (because I know someone would try to clock in from their phone while still in the parking lot) and I'd like to not have buddy punching. Paychex wants $55 per month (no contract) for their device, which I find outrageous considering what it is and what I am already paying them for payroll processnig..... so I'm wondering what you use and would you recommend it.

I don’t know where you are, but here, in Vancouver, the labour board doesn’t recognize MOST punchclock systems. That is to say, when push comes to shove the labour board will accept the employee’s version of events rather than the employer’s—regardless of time clocks when a complaint is lodged.

What many of the large hotels and casinos use is a fingerprint system where you have to clock in and out using a fingerprint pad.

Im still wary of renting any cash system, c/card or debit system, or punchclock system. There must be systems available at businesses who specialize in cash register systems.

There are quite a few tablet based systems out there that will do everything from transactions to labor management.

I personally like Toast.... https://pos.toasttab.com/pos-system/employees

Hope this helps and cheers

This is what we use plus a online/phone scheduler called OnShift. The fingerprint system makes sure no one is being dishonest with the clocking in and out and between the two systems it auto uploads to our payroll to cross reference.
