Thoughts on the challenge theme

    The monthly challenge seems to be a hit.  June's already has a ton of posts, some very good looking stuff.  I was hoping my beef heart sausage would at least be a contender for the offal challenge, oh well, there are many more to come, no doubt.

    I'm sitting here thinking about what to do for this month, and got to wondering.  What limits are there on "The Challenge"  Does it have to be an ingredient,  could it be a pair of ingredients like chiles and tomatoes, could it be a style, like bbq, salads or breakfast?  A technique, like stir fry, poaching or grilling?  What about locations - France, Argentina, Viet Nam, New Orleans?

    Just a few things to ponder back to your regularly scheduled skillets.

    I think practically anything goes, though perhaps categories that are too broad make them a bit unweildy.

    I wouldn't want to have to decide on a winner, that would be really hard, but maybe it would be easier for a very limited topic, what's the best recipe for fried chicken or mushroom soup something, and even then there would be potentially thousands

    On the other hand the broad topics like pasta (or, say, soups, vegetables etc) give lots of interesting results. 

    I think some other ideas could be on techniques (the best way to...) , on saving time, on cheap eating, for example.
