Ugh it's killing me to read stuff like this:
Freezing cooked veggies and beans for example. Blanched and frozen veggies yes, canned cooked beans yes. There's a best method for each type of food. Sometimes blogs like these forgo the best methods for their own convenient methods.
Well I thought I saw it there. Maybe it was another similiar blog.
So while we're on the subject, you don't see anything wrong with freezing cooked black beans in a jar? Because I just made a huge batch and will most likely need to freeze some of it.... and if I can avoid plastic I'd rather avoid it.
Why didn't you just can the beans? I suppose if you've already cooked them and need them preserved a long time then you really have no choice.
I have zero experience at canning... that'll be a new horizon to explore, one of those days. I cooked them 2 days ago and they are sitting in the fridge, I'm concerned that they are not being used up fast enough...
That's where chickens come in handy -
