I watch the Superbowl for the anthem, the commercials, the half time show and the food.  I'm especially glad Renee Flemming will be singing our national anthem this year, she's stellar and it is well deserved and about time!!

So what's on your menu?  I'll be making:

    - pigs in blankets

    - guacamole

    - sticky sesame drumsticks

    - salsa

I'm also toying with the idea of making chili, haven't decided yet though.

Chili is always a crowd pleaser. Different types of types, too. I really like to do a buffalo chicken dip.

It's such a beautiful day here in NY, I can't believe it won't snow here and can't believe the Bowl is in my backyard this year. It's actually a perfect day to cook out so I'm taking those drumsticks out on the barbie.

Seasoned refried beans in the bottom of a pie plate, top that with taco meat, top that with a bunch of cheese(take your pick, this year I am using nacho cheese from a can, yes I am cheating), top that with chopped scallions, add shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, and chopped black olives. Serve with chips and salsa and sour cream on the side. Also made a pot of chili, friends are bringing more food so we wil be eating from around 4pm until 9pm... one of those extended graze meals

To me, superbowl food is all about wings. Made sweet and spicy beer glazed wings with buttermilk ranch aioli, roasted onions and shaved bell peppers. The aioli doubles as a great dip too.

I made ribs and pecan corn bread and took it next door where there were two kinds of wings, pulled pork, buffalo chicken dip, and not really much in the way of veg.  I'll have a salad tomorrow . . . I promise.   /img/vbsmilies/smilies/crazy.gif

There ended up being 4 of us who were there for the whole game, my wife popped in between band practice and a church function.  We had WAY more food then we needed.  I made red cooked pork belly, had thought about also doing Korean fire chicken wings, glad I didn't they weren't needed.  We had

grilled brats with kraut and onion

steamed shrimp with a wasabi dipping sauce

Atomic buffalo, uh, things - bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos.

    ground bison chile ( spicy!)

    vegetable chile

    red cooked pork belly

a constant supply of tortilla chips with guac and a spicy tomato salsa

    I'm fat.  I'm happy.

How are you all finding wings?  I tried to find wings and the markets have been out this whole week.  I settled on drumsticks.

I tried to find enough of them to make a batch just for myself as I watched the Superbowl here in Switzerland(I am American, but live in Switzerland) and every butcher was baffled that I wanted just chicken wings. It led to some funny conversations about football vs. FOOTBALL. :p

The flavorings are similar to char siu, but red cooking involves a long, slow braise.  It is the same as one dish I made for the pork challenge.

And I think the Seinfeld commercial was my favorite.  Also, I wasn't expecting to see Bob Dylan hawking wares!

To pick up a thread from last year, What's Your Food Game Plan for SB Sunday?, team (regional) centric?, old favs?

Think we're opting for some new favorites and adopting a graze for the game stance as opposed to big halftime spread, jalapeno popper dip, jerk chicken and black bean dip, N'djua spread, chili with cornbread, Curry smoked chicken Arancini, mulling over a couple deep fried turkeys, maybe.

    And You's???

@EverydayGourmet my brother has a big watch party every year and there is ALWAYS friend turkey along with some substantial snacks .
Pulled pork in jus with my sister's homemade BBQ sauce on the side, homemade rolls for sliders, a TexMex station with stuff for tacos or nachos and burritos.
    Salads and of course desserts.
Over the years as we get older and drink less booze it seems the amt of dishes on the buffets increase .
