Substitute courverture for chocolate chips?

I have a recipe that asks for chocolate chips. All I have is a big bag of Lindt couverture buttons. Is there any reason why I couldn't just chop it up with a knife or processor into chip-size bits? Tastes a lot better than chocolate chips, if that matters.

probably would work just fine. Why not try it and see...what do you have to lose?

Thing with "chocolate chips" is that they were created to NOT melt in the oven.....

Good point about non-melting chocolate chips. Looking at the recipe, I think melted bits could be ok. If not, it's a good excuse to eat them myself! well, might not eat all of it at once...
