Subsitute eggs for egg whites

    A recipe of mine calls for 4 egg whites and can i use 2 large eggs i don't want to waste the egg yolks i know it will come out differently or can you buy egg whites

    what are you making? sometimes you can use fruit purees or applesauce to substitute...just depends on what you're making/baking.....or just save the yolks and scramble em' up for breakfast or use them to coat chicken as in a chicken parm, or a francaise.....or as you said, just buy the whites...then you are left with how to use up the rest of the carton, and i find them waay pricey.....if it were me, i'd just save the yolks for later use...if you have dogs, they love scrambled eggs anytime and they are good for their coats...win-win there...
