What is your favorite Simple cooked meal? Something easy and quick to cook and very tasty!
I dont know why but i thought of french toast.
That and i love chinese style rice with chicken .
Something I have not had in forever.
A good homemade Cioppino with warm baguette and good butter.
A freshly baked baguette.
Freshly sliced cooked ham.
Some good quality butter.
Pasta alfredo - the original style, with pasta, butter and parm only.
Soft scrambled eggs with fresh black pepper and, again, grated parm.
Pan seared steak with a simple reduction, shallots, mushrooms may or may not be involved.
Shakshuka-spicy tomato sauce with eggs poached in it and a dollop of plain yogurt or feta on top, scooped up with pita bread. Or rapinni sauteed with garlic, chili flakes and pancetta with an egg on top.
straccetti on rughetta (i posted this somewhere on these forums at one point) - i believe in a thread called food fads you hate or something. I was complaining about the stinginess of arugula when people make this in restaurants.
I get it on the table in five (count 'em, 5) minutes, and with a piece of bread to sop up the seasoning, you have meat, vegetable and starch.
Another is pasta with frozen shrimp, peas and garlic - on the table in the time it takes to boil the water and cook the pasta.
these are my two get-home-from-work-dead-tired-and-hungry-at-8:30 meals.
if i'm not too interest in balance and vegetables, a bowl of cheerios and raisins with milk
That is my usual lunch when on a cruise ship!
Have found that very few dishes stand out but meat, freshly carved is almost always steller .
bacon cheddar omlet
Stuffed Carmel french toast (much simple than it sounds)
Scramble eggs with stuff (whatever's on hand) with blueberry muffins
Matzo crackers n eggs with apple jelly
Stuff like dat
2 fried eggs over easy with toast soldiers.
Mmm... A really good steak.
Also poached eggs on toast with just salt and pepper: one of life's great pleasures.
And my mothers classic German potato salad, heaps of pickles, onions and bacon. I could eat that all day.
All so quick yet so delicious!
My mother had a godly potatoe dish ( more like a potato lasagna as she would call it ) she wasnt the best cook ,but this dish was a favorite.
Potatoe rounds , layered with bacon , ham , tomatoes , ages cheese , oregano , parsley herbs , etc.... ( about 3 layers ).
The cured ham with the bacon <_<
Now i know what will be my dinner next week
Was there some type of dairy? Milk? Butter? Come on you left out too much info
a soft boiled egg with a goodly amount of S&P, a great-hearty bread, toasted with a huge pat of butter spread all over, dipped into the egg ... the warm egg, butter, bread, YUM!
Lol ill make it for dinner , then ill post the recipe its been about 3 years since i had it XD .
Koukouvagia has a special software that sends her an email as soon as anyone posts the word "potatoe" on this forum. /img/vbsmilies/smilies/biggrin.gif
I, for one, would love to hear about your recipe as well Kaique. When I read your description I thought "chicken stock", now I see that Kouk' was thinking "milk/cream", I'd love to hear it. If I never do, I may just have to try both!!! /img/vbsmilies/smilies/lol.gif
You know me so well. And I love the way you spelled potatoe which in my heart I believe is the way it should be spelled. I do love potatoes and I notice that I usually stop eating when the potatoes on my plate are gone no matter what's left.
Potatoes are by far one of my favorites
Sweet , purple , small , large .... do i see the next challenge theme?! I hope so XD
Sounds like my wife (except replace the word "potatoes" with "food" /img/vbsmilies/smilies/lol.gif).
