We're thinking of having the whole family take a cruise together.  I'm intrigued. But cruises get so much bad press and the thought of being trapped on a floating sewer, or disease incubator, kinda gives me the creeps. Any thoughts?  /img/vbsmilies/smilies/confused.gif

I would never in a million years go on a cruise for that very reason. Just the thought of being stuck with 100's of people with the spring-break mentality makes me want to slit my own wrists. Not even if I won a cruise and didn't have to pay a cent. I'm generally not a fun person tho.

    no thanks.

Go for it and enjoy life while you can.I have been on over a dozen cruises from short 3 days to a bit longer 22 days and I never had any proplems at all exept that I put on a few extra pounds on every cruise

Life itself is a risk everyday, so make the best of it.!

You have to go with what you enjoy.  For me. I couldn't imagine being out in the middle of the ocean on an artificial environment, stuck there, with nowhere to go.  It seems infinitely boring.  What do you do all day?  What do you look at?  It seems like a fancy prison.  I can't imagine what people see in cruising.  But obviously there are a lot of people who love it.

As for germs?  there are germs everywhere.  Every time i go on a bus there are germs galore.  That would not be the reason i wouldn't go.

I have been on cruises all my life and in my opinion on a good line it is the most relaxing way to vacation. There is always something to do its your choice. The ports of call are interesting as you see many cultures. I would not call all the food great on all the lines some are far better then others.  They are clean and you know what kind of room you will be in . Where as on another type vacation you never know what you are going to get. My favorite line NCL  I like medium size ships not the mega ones.

I can truly say I have never been disappointed

Carnival was never rated the best. 1000 of cruises in a year. How many wind up bad like this one?  2 in 5000

Planes are worse as our buses
