Hulu - The Future Of Food - Watch the full feature film now.
I saw that - scary indeed. Especially the end credits. If big corporate food company executives are working at the FDA, big oil company executives are working at the EPA... :look:
Next on my list to watch, le_monde_selon_monsanto.avi (same topic, not sure if there is an english version?).
Without watching the video, just from the descriptions it looks like a typical propaganda piece.
We have a winner!
Do you think so? But its scary though. Its kinda odd today that things turn different. You are what you eat is turns into It's scary to eat.
no way that i trust human judgment!
i dont trust yalls judgment in viewing this vid, and especially not in handling the environment let alone anything else!
we have the entire human/universe condition to reconcile with
we are some sorry fools, livin in a world that will kill us.. <mod edit>
but there is lots of positivity, still
ai bobo and ashe!
Then again, you haven't watched the video.
The interesting thing about that documentary and the one I linked to: all the facts are right there under our eyes. You can easily check them for yourself using the internet and your favorite search engine, and trusted websites. All the journalists did is the work of a journalist.
I invite you to watch the video and check the facts for yourself. It is, indeed, scary.
People say exactly the same thing about 'The Ziegist movie' or Fahrenheit 9/11.
Both are simply propaganda pieces which ignore what contradicts and embellishes what supports.
As someone who worked in a genetics lab at one point, and is an evolutionary biologist by training, the only thing about the future of food that worries me slightly is maintaining enough genetic diversity so that a single blight can't wipe out a crop, or livestock type. Beyond that the future of food is quite bright. I just purchased a 10 lb rib roast which I'm sure was full of BGH, for 6.97 a pound (choice) and I don't care. I just had a lunch of farmed catfish. Excellent quality and very inexpensive.
I WILL watch the video tonight and report back, but I'm predicting a lot of complaints about GM crops, about how bad Monsanto is (a company which has most likely saved a few 100 million lives in famine prevention), **** perhaps how bad livestock is for global warming or how meat is wasteful.
So we will see.
So it doesn't bother you, for example, to learn that YOUR tax dollars are being managed by the same people who manage those big corporations? I know that bothers me. A lot.
Well I watched some of it. It was so slow paced I skimmed quite a bit.
Complete propaganda, including the music and tone. Know when you are being played because thats exactly what that was.
Monsanto is evil, GM is bad, blah blah blah. I really liked the appeal to emotion with the unlabled soy baby milk being GM.
While they went on their anti-corporate rant they seemed to forget what REAL famines were prior to these agricultural methods.
