I'm going to be in SF for a week later in June and I would like to get some recommendations for restaurants and chefs to look into. I will be looking for work, but I'm mostly looking for enjoyable places to eat.
The only restaurant I know of is Michael Mina's... any help people?

you could a quick jaunt across the bay and visit Alice Water's Chez Panisse.

also, what kinds of foods are you looking for, haute cuisine or something that showcase the regional flavors of the season.

Ahhh, I totally forgot about Chez Panisse! That is definately on my list now! Across the bay you say?
I also would definately like to get to a place that has an asian fusion type of cusine, but i'm really just looking for the highest quality eating experience i can get while in sf.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.....

I just returned from SF and ate at the following places:

Farallon: 450 Post St. pricey but excellent food and the decor is like you are underwater.
Chez Panisse: need I say anything!!! Go there for a great lunch.
    Zuni Cafe: Another classic.
The Stinkin Rose: It's a must if you love Garlic!!!
The Bay Bakery: Incredible bread, tarts and potato chips. They'll give you 20% off coupons at their related restaurants: Chez Nous, Galette, Le Petit Robert and Rigolo.
Also, Poggio in Saucilito is great.

Have a great time!! I wish I could go back right now.
