rose bananas. from Equador..any ideas on how to use them?

I'm in France for a fortnight. Bought 2 rose bananas Equador label on them... never heard of them before. they're very starchy. A bit like plantains, brown skin. Would i use them the same way? Chap in Carrefour supermarket sez they're good for desserts???

tried adding a pic, but tech out here in the sticks is v v basic. Struggled to get online Attal.

If you let them sit out on the counter until they become completely black - they will then be fairly soft and incredibly sweet.

They basically turn from a plantain into a sweet banana.

thanks Michael. not so keen anymore tho. i thought they were going to be a totally new experience

they are an experience - just takes 2-3 weeks for them to ripen... then they are pretty cool.   /img/vbsmilies/smilies/smile.gif
