Puree sub?

Here's a simple question. My recipe calls for a glaze that uses black berry puree. I don't recall seeing this particular puree in the markets, what can I substitute that would not significantly alter the taste - low sugar black berry jam maybe? Thanks ;)

It really depends what the recipe is for. The closest substitution, if you can find it, is raspberry puree. The purees that are most commonly sold frozen contain about 10% sugar. If you can find frozen berries, you can make your own by cooking it with sugar and straining out the seeds.
