    Hi,

Can someone recommend a decent POS system for a "BBQ joint" with 15 tables, a varied menu, with takeout as well?

    Thanks!

    Pete

One of the most popular and most reasonably priced POS systems available is the PC America Restaurant Pro Express (http://www.pcamerica.com/restaurant_pro_express.htm).

It runs on a variety of off the shelf computer equipment whereas some of the other systems tie you to their hardware which is considerably more expensive.

You can also handle take-out sales, dine-in and delivery sales with the software. It is touch screen based and you can configure multiple register stations, kitchen order displays and printers and everything you need to run a restaurant.

We are using an Aloha Software-based system that is the best I have ever used. User friendly, versatile, fast! Not the cheapest, but the savings we are realizing is WELL worth the investment. Anyhow, when does cheapest ever mean the best?

Check out the Nusable system, Classic version. Very cost effective and reliable. You won't be paying for a bunch of bells and whistles you don't need.

I suggest Retail Express POS systems if you haven't chosen one yet. Retail Express is pretty much the best in Australia when it comes to business software.
