Polished Cast Iron

I have one pan, a 16" spider that has a polished interior. It's old, unknown maker. The polish is primarily for show imho--the high craftsmanship. I've seem some advocates on Youtube who hand polish and hype the slickness, but their testing and demos don't really seem deep or long term. Yes, this is better from the start, but not important long term it seems.

Summary, the Lodge cooks and releases as well when the seasoning catches up after some initial use.
