Hey oh Well, I am not sure this is the right place for this, however. I like to do this beautyfull desert from time to time. I do it in variouse ways, from white wine to red to sherry. In simple lite syrups to very fragrent heavy syrups. Oh, the endless variety. What I was wondering is this. Am I alone in my liking poached pears as served with sour cream? As much as I do like whipped cream, even a poched pear in white wine layed on a strawberry coulie with whipped cream is awsome, I find the acidity of sour cream a nice accompanyment to the overt sweetness of a pear poached in sherry or a heavyer syrup. Any one else do the sour cream route? And if so, what have you done to dress up the sour cream? Oh, and if you have any interesting poach ideas, I'd love to hear them.
