I'm so excited! I recently completed my first cake decorating class. It was so fun, but the thing that I really learned was that there is so much more to learn! My hat is off to the pros! My mother-in-law had a birthday right after the class ended, so guess who made the cake... I know it is far from perfect, but I had an absolute BLAST doing it! Enjoy the pics!

    You're very talented!

It really fits a MIL cake as well. Color and theme and all.

BORK, This is quite a compliment. Momoreg is one of the most talented pastry chefs I have ever had the honor to taste.Good use of pastel colors, your rose work is nice and your cake looks even in it's circumference. Good luck with your ventures and post on your progress.

Edit to clarify tasting Momoreg!!!!her amazing cakes and pastries ;)

    Bork,
Just curious if you're female or male? Is that not PC?
I'm pretty impressed this is your first try. The flowers are very natural looking. So many people try to get the roses perfectly alike when this is really not how they look.
    Well I've got an opening.
What type of icing are you using?

Ahh good thing you fixed that, I was wondering

Anyway, Bork, that really is as good a cake as you'll find in any bakery. So nicely done, be proud of your efforts.

WOW! Thanks to all of you for your kind words and encouragement! You guys are the BEST! I'm speachless!

Cakerookie, I live right next door to the middle of nowhere, so unfortunately I doubt I could find a Wilton class locally, though I have not asked yet. Maybe that will be my next class! I took the class at a local community college. The instructor said that she may offer a follow-up class in the future.

Panini, I used the "Snow White Buttercream" recipe that comes with the Wilton Merangue Powder (without the almond extract, this is what we used in class) BTW- I'm female (I don't care if its PC! ) I'd take you up on the opening if I lived in TX!

Momoreg, I would love to put Cape Chef's comment about your pasteries to the test, Maybe if I ever get to CT? :lips:

    Thanks again everyone!
