    Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a good vegetable peeler? I need one for a class I am taking. I have an easy grip OXO at home and wouldn't hesitate to get one for school, but I wanted to know if I was missing out on anything.

    Thanks,

OXO is perfect for me! If you're happy with yours, you should get another one for class!

    Find the best all-purpose peeler

Personally, I like the Y or Harp shaped peelers the best. I find that the pulling motion is quicker for me. And when you have several crates of potatoes or carrots in front of you, speed is a necessity.

[edit] just retried the link and you have to be a member of the site to access the information. However, here's a little snippet from Cook's Illustrated's tests:

Thanks everyone. I did end up buying another OXO peeler. I would have hated to leave my wife at home w/o a peeler if she needed one. This class I am taking is going to deprive her of the benfit of me cooking several weeknight meals, so she could use all the kitchen gadgets she can get her hands on!
