Hi, my name is Krystle and I am a Culinary Management student, I love my culinary program, but along the way I have come to enjoy every aspect of the pastry business. So my question to all is how do I go about starting a pastry career without having to go back to school and paying more money?

If you really think you'd like pastry that much, find a pastry shop that sells pastries you enjoy eating and would like to make. Start patronizing the place. Get to know the owner(s) and talk to them about working in their shop. They are no different than other restaurants in needing good help. If you are willing to get up really early and working hard, you shoud have no problem landing a job. Supermarkets now also have large baking/pastry departments.

Thank you very much for that. The insight definitely gave me ideas and had my mind running wild. I definitely do enjoy the pastry side of culinary so if I could get an apprenticeship even I would definitely move at the chance!
