    Hi all,

Not sure where to put this so mods please move it if this is the wrong spot.

I have some concerns about oven & grill cleaner ( caustic soda) & long term exposure to it. I've been using it for almost 10 years now without much thought into the health risks. Now that I have a family I'm more concerned about my health.

I've been using it without much safety gear... Just gloves. It makes me cough... Occasionally stings my eyes & makes my skin itch. I try not to breathe in the fumes but sometimes it seems unavoidable.

Does anyone know much about the dangers of this chemical?
Does exposure to it have long term side affects?
What safety equipment do you recommend for using this chemical?

I've found most people I've seen use it fairly haphazardly and just act tough like their used to it, I'm fairly guilty of this.

    Any advice is appreciated
