    Hello All,

Recently I traveled to Japan and decided to stop at Starbucks and see what they sell over there that you might not find in america, one cake caught my eye and I decided to try it. Is the Orange Valencia cake.

It is a orange cake with sour cream top and a refreshing jelly.

I can not seem to find anywhere a good recipe of how to make it, I have tried different recipes at home and none of them taste the same, I need help I don't know anymore what kind of cake it is exactly and how to make it. I know how it tastes but since I am really new to the dessert making I am lost. Please help.

The cake is just a sponge with some chopped orange mixed in (prolly moistened with an orange flavored simple syrup) but the sour cream topping and orange preserves can be made many different ways.

Mind describing those components as best you can?

Ya nevah know....the Chef Talk (OBTW welcome to the site ;-) membership includes world class bakers with thousands of recipes just laying around...ready to be shared.

This is a sponge meringue cake. Made with Valencia oranges. /img/vbsmilies/smilies/biggrin.gif
