Nut flours for flourless tortes

I notice in most of the recipes for flourless tortes (esp of the chocolate types) they call for finely ground almond. I however, like the pairing of hazelnut and chocolates. Are there any specific reasons for the use of almond instead of other nut flours like walnut, pecan or hazelnuts (other than cost, perhaps)?:confused:

Thanks again for the insights! Oh, I could've had shorter learning curves on things baking if I had found this earlier. But better late than never ;)
