Notifications

Not sure if this was addressed already somewhere else but I haven't been on in a while and when I came back I notice every time it will show notifications for threads I've participated in on the profile picture in the corner. Normally if I scroll over this it will clear them but I have noticed it will reset the notifications even on posts I have clicked through the links in the profile picture. Is there a way to turn this off so I don't keep receiving the same notifications over and over?

I only get that if my browser is loading a cached page. You might try forcing a refresh of the page and seeing if that resets the cache.
