Sure Nicko.....you know, i know there are exceptions,
but I'd sort of gotten the impression that was something
the mods considered their turf.
I guess I stand corrected. :)

Yeah ... I've got something to say.

First off ... DUH - LOL @ ME. For whatever odd reason, I can't figure out how to start a new thread. Therein ... I'm announcing this here.

Tomorrow I'm taping a "PILOT" first episode of a hopefully NEW TV SHOW.

"Jeannie's Kitchen ... w/ Chef Francis"

I've got a producer/director and his idea is a cooking show ... from a "Chicago" point of view. He came to me because of the way I speak "Chicago" style, and he likes my attitude from the "No Kid Hungry", "Share Our Strength", "Cooking Matters" classes I teach. If our main investor likes the pilot ... we get $30,000 for 5 shows, then we pitch it to a TV station. We're thinking maybe PBS. I haven't slept 3-hours since Saturday. Trust me ... If things go well ... youse guys will all hear about it.

OK ... I didn't suck.

What we did today didn't show off any killer food chops, that wasn't the intention. I did however, I think, show off ability to show regular home people how to put quality ingredients together and produce winner dishes. I only went off track once, but it was verbal not performance. Nothing that good editing can't make disappear. As it was, the production staff all fell over each other getting to eat what was made. NO survivors food-wise (NO leftovers). Thanks everyone for your support.

I had complete confidence in your ability to do this and knew that you would knock it out of the park. The big question though is ...are regular home people going to want to watch it?

I knew this was a given as well. Goodatcha! I would love to see the pilot. Hope it busts open doors for you!

OK ... We're talking about a BIG GIANT leap of faith here ... I'm talking really freakin' BIG ... but the premiss is that the viewers are going to want to watch and listen to ME. Why does anyone watch "Hell's Kitchen"?!? Is there anything really about cooking good dishes in that show? With our show we want to present really good dishes, the stuff you go out to eat, in a way to make them at home just as well but easy. We're praying to Jebus that MY style and personality gets them to watch our show. "All In The Family" was on for a long time. I'm kinda like a Chicago "Archie Bunker" with really good food chops and replacing obnoxious with funny entertainment.

The food involved included four(4) pizzas; a classic Margarita, a jacked-up Margarita, a pear Gorgonzola w/ fennel and shallots and a Hawaii/Cali. pizza w/ ham, bacon and pineapple. I claimed these were "7-minute cracker-crust pizzas". In the 7-minutes cooking time I threw together a vegetarian roasted vegetable gallette of sorts.
