It is going to be a "fun" day tomorrow... we have no dishwashers in. One is in a wedding and the other fractured something snowboarding today and won't be able to come in either. The KM is going to have kittens but I had to call someone in for the kitchen so we could at least spare one person for the dish and we will all be taking our turns... we have two busers in and one has done dish so he can do that while my daughter is the lone buser on a busy Saturday...

Hopefully the January slowness will extend into the weekends and it won't be so bad.....

You can call the temp service can't you? Either that or just have an extra person but don't take the extra hour to do all the dinner dishes. Once the dish machine starts slowing down you send the extra person home. The opening dishwasher can catch up the next day.

It went ok... they pulled a buser into do dish and then when he got backed up someone helped him out. At the end of the day my daughter stayed and helped close the dishpit.

It was a weird day too.. very slow to start and then at 10am they came and we went pretty much nonstop until almost closing.

Lets hope tomorrow goes just as well...

Sunday was crazy busy! It was just like Saturday.. it started out slower than slow and then we were lined up out the door for the rest of the day.

We at least had one dishwasher in but the poor guy is new and hasn't figured out the tricks to make him work more efficiently so he ended up in the weeds more than a few times. We had two cooks who were supposed to keep an eye on the pit but they could only do so much as we were busy in the kitchen.

Once things slowed down I took myself offline and went into the pit and gave him a hand to catch up. I felt bad that he was so behind and it really was no fault of his own as he is a good worker. I ended up staying an extra hour and when i saw that there was little left to do I asked the owner if he minded that I go and I told him what little was left and he was fine with it.

I've never been above the dishpit.. we all have to do dishes now and then and actually at one place I worked the chef and I did the dishes every day. It was a workplace cafeteria and just him and I in the back so dishes were part of our job.
