I know it's kinda off to make this thread here about no bake stuffs since this is the baking thread but I'd really like to learn some no bake recipes. It could be anything like cakes, brownies or whatever as long as it doesn't have to be baked. Reason for this is because well, I like sweets but I like to eat them right away and baking is just making me wait too long hehehe! Please share some of those recipes to me pretty please? Thanks in advance!

Take a chocolate chip (toll house) cookie recipe. Don't bake the cookies, eat the dough directly!  /img/vbsmilies/smilies/lol.gif

'Nestle' here in the states recently had a major recall for its refrigerated toll house cookie dough.. The problem being of course they contain egg and people who were eating the cookie dough raw or undercooked were coming down with salmonella poisoning so be careful

    Well, i meant home made.

I've eaten raw dough from every single cake or cookie i ever made - i always lick the bowl.  Never got salmonella, but of course, that doesn;t mean it;s not possible.  But i would be more wary of eggs mixed up in a dough and then kept for some time.  Small traces would probably multiply,.

However, once, in high school, my friends and i were walking home from school and were hungry and we went in the small grocery store in town and i said, hey, let's buy one of those rolls of toll house cookie dough and eat it raw!  we three ate the whole roll!  Wasn't very wary then.

When my kids were young and we lived in our first house that had no a/c I would make no bake cookies all summer long so I didn't have to turn on the oven and heat up the house even more.  I still make them now and then as the kids really enjoy them.  I have no idea of the source of these recipes... one Christmas my husband made me a recipe book and I'm sure he found the recipes on the internet.

    No Bake Oatmeal Cookies

    2 cups brown sugar, packed

    1/2 cup milk

    3 tablespoons cocoa

    1 teaspoon vanilla

    1/4 cup butter

    3 cups quick oats.

    1/4 cup peanut butter

Mix sugar, cocoa, butter and milk and bring to a boil.  Boil for one minute.  Remove from heat.  Add vanilla, oats and peanut butter.  Stir well.

Cover a baking sheet with waxed paper.  Drop cookie mixture by spoonfuls onto the waxed paper.  Ready when hardened.

***note:  I would harden them in the refridgerator and also keep them refrigerated as they would melt at room temperature... I've never kept them at room temperature so I'm not sure what kind of mess you might find if you try it.

    Thin Mint

1 6oz package semi sweet chocolate chips

    3 tablespoons butter

    1 cup powdered sugar

    1/8 tsp peppermint extract

2 to 5 drops green food colouring

    2 to 3 tsp milk

In medium plastic microwave safe bowl combine chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of butter.  Microwave on high for 45 seconds or until chips are soft.  Stir until smooth.  Spread into a parchment lined 8x8 baking dish.  Chill for one hour or until hard.

In medium bowl combine sugar, 1 tablespoon of butter, peppermint and food colouring. Beat with electric mixer adding milk as needed until stiff frosting consistency.  Spread on chilled chocolate layer.  Chill 3 to 4 hours or until firm.  Cut into 1.5 inch squares and store in refrigerator tightly covered, for no longer than one week.

    Enjoy!!

PS I'm with siduri.. homemade cookie dough, especially chocolate chip is heavenly when eaten raw!!
