I want to come up with something that has a Southern feel to it, yet new and delicate. It is hard to stray away from a traditional idea that I have of the South.

A southern recipe would be great. I know a lot of family and friends pass around recipes, as do professional chefs. I am just trying to expand my knowledge and come up with something new.

Firstly, the south ( from the Mason Dixon Line ) is vast in size ... There is the Mid Atlantic states, the southeast and then the southwest ... Which states do you have an interest in gastronomically ?

www.southernliving.com ( lovely magazine with recipes, decoration and travel features for those enamored with the South ) ...

www.sunsetmagazine.com ( focuses on the southwest and western USA - travel, epicurism, decoration ) ...

www.jlcharleston.org   ( Charleston is truly picturesque and a favourite of mine )

There are so many specialties, including,: Gumbo, chowders, crawfish, okra, prawns, Catfish, blue crabs, deviled crabs, Country ham, Virginia ham, collards  etcetra

Please could you be more specific and provide details as to where and which cities or towns or villages you wish to have recipes from ?
