We're doing beef ribs for a special next week and the boss asked me to see if i could find a good rub to use on them . Any suggestions are welcome . I would prefer something that can be put together with the dry spices and herbs on hand in the kitchen , but if someone knows of a premix that is redilly(sp) avalible in the hampton roads virginia area then that is good to . I believe they are to be bar-b qed .

I always found behind their ears or on their little tummies to work well:D

I use this on everything from homemade potato chips to chicken to pork to steaks.

BBQ Spice

1 cup sugar
¼ cup salt
¼ cup onion powder
¼ cup granulated garlic
¼ cup celery salt
½ cup paprika
¼ cup chili powder
2 TB black pepper
2 tsp. dry sage
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. cayenne
2 TB. ground bay leaves
1 TB dry mustard

Mix all ingredients together thoroughly and store in airtight container.

Whatever your recipe used, try interchanging light brown sugar with dark brown sugar. Ooooohhhhhhh, the nuances of rub...stimulates me into sheer synaptic ectasy!!! :D :bounce:
