Minosharp - good or bad?

    I do intend to get some stones and learn to use them (honest!).  But they do represent quite an investment of both time and money.  So in the meantime I would like to find something I can use TODAY to sharpen my knives which: -

         A)  Will give me a reasonable cutting edge on my knives

         B)  Will not damage my knives

         C)  Is not too expensive

    I have noticed that quite a number of people who seem to know what they're talking about recommend the Minosharp Plus 3 as being rather better than 'basic' sharpeners.  It is also recommended by Global.

    I have a selection of Wusthof, Victorinox and Kasumi knives.  Given that I do understand that stones are best - do any of you guys have any experience with the Minosharp?  What are your thoughts?

    I guess you'll find a consensus here to buy a stone, not a gizmo. Free hand sharpening is really not difficult at all. So, the advice is to save time and money and buy a stone.

    The MS works, our former knife guru BDL bought one for his daughter.  But take the advice given.  The same $70 buys you a nice combination stone, which works much better.
