Looked around online and asked a few peeps and some of the answers I get make me lol.
The neighbor buys a Visa card with 50 bucks loaded in.
Really?
I have my 5 year old Grand ( my mini mimi) with me for the summer and she got 25 bucks cash plus a Shopkins toy for her first tooth.
Another is loose and she is wiggling it (violently lol :) because there is a DVD she has her eye on.
I was thinking to just buy it for her and slipping it under her pillow.....yes?

5 bucks in my house. If your a Mom and Dad send them to GM and GP's house during the loosing teeth years. If your a GM and GP don't answer the phone because they probably loosened the tooth eating candy at your house.......

I began by giving 5 or 10, whichever I had on hand. I started to get little gifts instead (like nail polish, a little purse, a boa for dress up play, etc) because mine never wanted to spend their money. They never ask or want anything, even as teenagers. My daughters favorite gift is still yarn so she can knit. I swear they were born 90 year olds.

The standard here is a ten crown coin, equivalent to about a dollar thirty. There have been a few treats of 1$ silver certificates and two dollar bills over the years.

Not that I'm above spoiling my kids on occasion [emoji]128526[/emoji]

As a kid I loved getting two dollar bills, .50¢ pieces, any novelty I suppose. That doesn't sound like the case here, though...

Me too. The novelty and surprise was better than any amount. I often got odd foreign coins for teeth.

Where and when I grew up the tooth fairy wasn't rich, nor were my parents.

I still have a collection of Kennedy half dollars from my youth tooth shedding days.

Mine either Brian.
I remember getting a handful of pennies one time lol.
Another time a dime and 3 nickels.
That was in the mid 1960s.
How much would that be when adjusted for inflation?

$50 x 20 teeth = $1000.  What could go wrong?

"This is the neighbor whose kid I am almost certain stripped my peach tree bare.... "  Well there is that. and probably a whole lot more down the road.

Mine are in/entering college and we gave them a gold dollar.

It is still hanging in there.
Told her I was gonna lock up the Shopkins if she didn't stop.
I like the gold coin idea.
Will go into town today and look for a bank.
Fingers crossed.

25 bucks...? Nevermind 50, I gave my daughter 5 bucks for every tooth she lost. Kids that young don't need to have that much money

Update....
After a few apples and a dollars worth of giant gum balls from the quarter machine at the mall she finally got that damn tooth out of her mouth and under her pillow.
The fairy mimi took it and slipped a couple of tickets to Finding Dory in its place.

It was perfect 'cuz the only person to take her to a town with a movie theater was me so I only gave up the price of one ticket (and the 30 dollars spend on snax .. lol).
