Hi, my family used to make this dessert and I'm wondering if it was a Metis (Canadian aboriginal) recipe or just a family thing. It's a pan candy—dark CLEAR caramel in a pie tin covered with walnuts. It was like a really thick, sticky syrup. The way you eat it is you dip in a spoon, scoop out nuts and the caramel and lick the spoon for a million hours. I think they made it with Karo syrup and sugar and all kinds of things that are bad for you, but I can't find the recipe and they're no longer with us. Does anyone know this recipe, and if so, will you please share it with me? Thank you in advance!
