The annual Meatout will be held on March 20. What is that you may ask? It's a day like any other except you're ask to refrain from eating meat. Will you be part of the Meatout?

Visit the Meatout website for more information.

I've heard of the Great American Smoke Out but never the meat out. We don't have meat at every meal - there are lots of non-meat alternatives to get what you need. Participating in the meat-out will probably be more of a statement from a household that has meat at every dinner.

Hopefully it will people discover they can put other things on their plate beside meat.

Apparently it's been around for 17 years and yet most people, including myself, don't even know about it.

Since I eat red meat once every two or three months, chicken once a month and fish a few times a week, I can have a meat out any day you want. Pass the black beans and rice. Whoopee! I Love jalapenos.
