Im new to this area and don't have any experience with the local knife sharpening services. There are a few local shops who obviously send them out, and I don't want to take a chance using them on my personal knives. Can anybody recommend a quality service who will accept my knives by mail and return them quickly having done a quality job?

    thanks

A couple of Henckels chef knives, and a boning knife.

Perfect Edge in San Mateo CA is who I've used. They were the Shun service shop during the time when Shun stopped their in house sharpening. The straightened a bent tip for me and it came back perfectly straight and sharp.

They also refurbished a Henckels four-star that needed help. Did good on that too

Don't know where in southern CT you are but I'm close enough to stop by these guys. From the looks of it they do every restaurant in NYC.

I sent the knives off to Ambrosi and they did a fine job. Prices were good too. All in all I had the knives back, razor sharp in just a few days. I would definitely recommend them.
