Layering Lasagna

When layering lasagna how many layers  and how many noodles do you lay across the pan?  I usually lay 3 noodles across with 3 layers.

How many across depends entirely on the pan size and whether laying noodle lengthwise or width wise. I like 3 or 4 layers. 3 if vegetarian and 4 if with meat.

I use square Asian won-ton wrappers and stack them like Napoleons. I like having 4 layers; cheese, stuff, stuff, cheese. They are perfect portion size and they look fantastic on the plate.

I'm not telling you to change and do it my way. I'm just having conversation because I'm bored. I'm freakin' layed up with plantar fasciitis.

I'll call the "Severe Neuropathy" and raise back with three(3) carpal tunnel surgeries (the first surgeon was a hack)

Wimps.
Carpal tunnel, left knee, 2 backs ( 2nd with an erector set installed that is time to revise).
Currently wobbling around camp with braces on my left ankle and my right knee.
Top all that off with 2 huge kids ..... only a kidney stone tops birth.

Heya Iceman your lasagna with the wonton wraps sounds good!! I am going to do that with me next one thanks for your inspiration!!

Oh......and I raise with three kidney stones, ulcerative colitis, endometriosis, ankylosing spondilitis, a bulging disk and herniated disk which is not playing very nice with me at the moment, and PTSD in a pear tree.
Despite all that I would not wish plantar fasciitis on anyone as I have seen a loved one deal with that. It's a doozy!!
Other than that I think we are all doing pretty darn good in our magnificent age category!!! Lol

So kidney stones top childbirth? I find that hard to believe, but I guess that means I've had two. Yup, no fun at all. Either way, pain levels depend on the individual and the circumstance/condition. 

I've also had Plantar Fasciitis. Not severe, but a pain nevertheless. Roll a golf ball under the sole of your foot with pressure while watching tv. It helped me immensely. 

RE : Lasagna. Number of layers depends on the size of the pan, but I also fold over. I'm guessing three or four? Depends on the filling too.  It's been a while since I made lasagna. I sometimes let it cool completely and refrigerate. It cuts nicely into portion sizes when cold.

They're (won-ton wrappers) the ones that are smaller than egg-roll wrappers. 3.5-4 inches square maybe. They also come round. Sammiching 2 of them makes beautiful raviolis. I use round for cheese and square for meat ... or vice-versa.  Folding 1 over on itself is for pierogis. Making raviolis or pierogis I use them right off the stack. For lasagna I cook them for 10-seconds in tap water as hot as it will get. You gotta be careful because if you put too many in the pan they glue themselves together (really nasty). I use 2 per layer because they are very thin compared to lasagna pasta.  At my store they come $1.59-$1.99 a pkg., depending on who has the price gun. Each pkg. has 48-50 per. They're also great for pot-stickers and dumplings et al Asian stuff.​

The pain in me feet was so bad that first nite that when I got up to go pee I fell right on my head after standing up. The pain was bad enough to keep me from going to work that first day. I don't know from kidney stones or birthing.

I'm not going to get into name calling (wimps) but I recently passed what is probably the 25th kidney stone. Been passing them since turning 20. This year it was two: 7mm and 5mm. These didn't really pass but had to be surgically removed. Almost seemed like cheating... Except for the 9 weeks of "trying". A female friend passed a big baby and several months later a kidney stone. She authoritatively attests to stones being more painful than the child.

Re lasagna. I like the convenience of folded but the presentation appearance of layered and cut. When I fold I often roll and serve standing on end.

I use a 9x13 pan with homemade sheets of pasta (cut to fit the pan, layered out one way and then the other as you pile them on), sauce with LOADS of crumbled Italian Sausage, 

3 different cheese and I get 5 layers it seems...

never thought about it this before, I just assemble, bake and EAT!

Re aches and pains of life: I ignore them all, life's a party, but there are some bumps along the way, 

oh and that's why the pharmaceutical companies make so much money, BOOYAH!

Chronic renal calcification is not fun at all or so I have been told.
Passed one myself and thought the appliance holding my spine in place had a loose screw.
The CT told a different story and was in living hell until it passed.
I cannot imagine what number 25 must have been like.
