Just got a new bradley smoker any tips

    Got a nifty bradley smoker for Christmas and was wondering if anyone else is using this smoker. So far i like how clean the smoke burns, the insulation of the smoke chamber and the easy of use. What I struggle with is it does not seem to heat up very fast and I was wondering if this is a normal thing with the smoker? 

    My first batch of bacon really came out very well in the smoker and so did a round of pheasants that I shot.

    Smoking is a low slow process, slow down let it do it's thing and enjoy the result.  If there isn't provisions for a pan of water inside when smoking make one.
