Hi,
A friend of mine from work is looking for a couple of Tolkien's earlier works, The Similarian and The Book Of Lost Tales. I was just wondering if anyone would know where to find these books ??

Thanks,
Jeff

They are, both, pretty easy to find. Most of the major bookstores carry them, as these are not nearly as obscure as some of his other works. I am sure Amazon has them also.

Too bad you didn't ask 10 years ago when I sold mine to Half Price Books....

Never could muck through that Silmarillion, though. Thick going, that!

I didn't mind going throught the Simarillion, but the lost tales are very different in my opinion.

I read and re-read the Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales till I think I just about memorized them, along with a collection of cross reference material and such. The Sil. is really depressing- a story of beautiful people slaughtered, tortured and decimated for generation after generation because of a difference of opinion. Hmmm. Wait, no, thats' Newsweek.....
