My old employer has offered me the sous chefs position, I only left the company 9 months ago for my current job as a CDP. I get on very well with my current head and sous chefs and we are all good friends, however there has been tension between myself and the 3rd &4th chefs. The head chef would rather I stayed as i would be next in line for promotion to 3rd or 4th if one leaves. That said though, I haven't had much chances on the sauce/main coarse corner due to the number of chefs we have, I guess its a choice between staying working with friends but have limited chances to do what I love doing, cooking the main meals/sauces and moving to my back to my old employers, where I would get the chance to proove myself at Sous level (which my current head chef says I'm well capable of). Its a tough decision to make. I'm sure some of you will of been in similar situations before. What would you do?
