just kidding...but that'd be pretty awesome though :D

My name is Kevin and I live in Denver, Colorado. I was recently accepted to the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, CO. I am so excited to be going to culinary school, being a chef has been a dream of mine since I was a kid.

This last Monday they allowed me to sit in on a class, participate, and try the finished food at the end of class. We made hot and sour soup, shumai ( dumplings ), a dumpling sauce, messo soup, curry chicken, and fortune cookies! I had such a great time, even though the messo soup tasted like my fish tank smells >_<

I love cooking. I love cooking for people. The best part for me are the happy smiles I put on peoples faces when they dig into a dish I've prepared, and I'm so excited that I'm only going to get better from here.

I look forward to racking your brains with my homework, and learning from your experience. I love intelligent conversation! and I really hope some of you will be up to the task of putting me in my place :p because you don't learn from being right, you learn from mistakes and being wrong! SO HELP ME LEARN :D I am always willing to share my experiences and wisdom.

I've always been horrible at school, but I told myself at the end of class monday, that I was going to graduate with honors, at the top of my class. Nothing I've ever done, or said has felt truer, or more right.

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to learning from you guys, and about you guys.

It's great to have ambition, that's for sure!  I've never seen IronChef as it doesn't seem to be shown here in the UK, unless it's on one of the minor satellite or cable channels that I've never watched!

We have a wide membership, both globally and in terms of culinary expertise, from those just learning to boil water through to masterchefs - and all points in between.

We have a specific forum for culinary students where you might like to post any questions relating to culinary school.  Lots of students and quite a few of our chefs participate there.  Feel free to join in on any thread you find interesting, or start your own in the relevant forum.  Please note, though, that the professional fora are read only for those not employed in a culinary trade - but they still make interesting reading!  The wikis, blogs, articles, reviews and photographs are all well worth a view.  The photographs particularly give great inspiration to aspiring cooks of all stripes!

Good luck with your cookery course.
