I am looking for a Stagier Position(traning period for no money) in a good Restaurant in N.Y or San Francisco.

    :(

As far as I know miamor, in the US, it is illegal to work for free.
To do such a thing, better off looking at FRANCE. Of course, there are places , residential in SF (Pacific Heights) that ask for cooks and in return offer only room and board, cooking expenses and travel to and from cooking (work) related places of business.
    It's not a bad deal...................keep on truckin'

The post earlier is incorrect...it is very legal to work for free in the US.....check out the post here by 'theloggg'. He is showcased on Cheftalk as a culinary student who worked in several staging postions in NY before going to culinary school in Denver, Colorado.

So, yes, it is possibble to find staging here in US. Good Luck,
